Performance Friction Pad Compounds
Performance Friction 01 Race Pads This is a Racing Brake Pad from Performance Friction. The 01 race pad is a newly developed compound. This pad is the flagship pad for touring cars and most saloon car applications. In terms of supreme braking, it supercedes all of Performance Frictions earlier Compounds. It takes more heat to get this pad to function as intended but at the same time it has an extremely high heat tolerance, being able to see temperatures in excess of 1200 degrees Fahrenheit without seeing excess wear. The ideal working temperature for this pad is between 600 and 900 degress Fahrenheit. While being a more difficult pad to modulate, its release characteristics are this pads strong suit. Few Porsche applications are available in this new compound. As time goes on, newer applications will be introduced. 02 Race Pads available soon !!
Performance Friction 97 Race Pads This is a Racing Brake Pad from Performance Friction. The 97 race pad is an extensively developed compound. This pad has picked up where the extremely popular 90 Race Compound left off. It has higher initial bite characteristics, slightly more aggressive brake torque curve, better temperature resistance, and a better wear rating. All Porsche applications are available in this compound, and we highly recommend them for track day use. Feel free to contact us regarding your specific application. Performance Friction 93 Compound Developed after the 83 compound. Improvements include: better release characteristic; great improvement for trailing into a corner or modulation at threshold braking; kinder to disc; polishes disc smooth even under severe conditions. Racers claim three times the disc life. Pad life of the 93 compound is slightly better than 83. 93 comes on quicker and has a flatter torque curve - a plus in some applications. But, be careful! Without finesse you can over- slow the car in a hurry. Check out 90 or 83 if you are over-slowing the car. When it comes to ultimate performance with finesse, this pad is second to none. Winner of the Daytona 200 (Florida), Suzuka 8 Hours (Japan) and Jarama World Superbike (Spain) with Honda. Winner '95 LeMans 24 hour with Honda/Acura NSX. Winner of '96 Daytona 24 hour and Sebring 12 hour with Riley & Scott Olds Aurora. Alex Job Racing - American Le Mans Series Performance Friction 90 Compound 90 was developed at the same time as 93 and is very similar with lower torque output. It also has a higher wear rate under super severe service. Recommended and preferred for Asphalt Late Model Stocks, Pro Stock and Limited Late Model type race cars. Used by the Bob Bondurant High Performance School of Driving. Allowing three times the pad and rotor life, ultimate torque close to 93. This compound teaches drivers braking finesse and pedal feel. Its modulation characteristics also make it forgiving. Recommended by drivers of Winston Cup and European Touring Cars. Ideal combination with 93 on the front. Highly recommended as a general purpose race pad. Preferred by IndyCar and Indy Lights drivers for one mile ovals because of the finesse characteristics of settling the car without over slowing. Oreca Viper - 24 Hours Le Mans 83 Compound If you don't know about the credentials of this pad material, welcome to racing! Super high torque. Firm pedal feel. Requires finesse. Outstanding wear characteristics under severe conditions. A favorite for ALMS and IMSA GT cars and the most popular choice of racers worldwide. A winner with Indy Car, Winston Cup, Busch, Late Model, Formula Ford, Showroom Stock, etc |
