MoTeC Interpreter Data Analysis Software MoTeC provides a range of powerful and flexible engine management and dash/loggers, all of which incorporate data acquisition facilities. This is a brief outline of data analysis and display using MoTeC Interpreter.MoTeC InterpreterMoTeC interpreter is an advanced analysis tool to assist in the unloading of logged data from MoTeC products and for quick, efficient data analysis and display. Data may also be retrieved from alternative file formats and converted to MoTeC log data, for users migrating from alternate data acquisition systems. The information contained within the log files may be viewed in a variety of formats, from a short summary of the session, for a quick systems check, through to many forms of graphical and text display including:graphing against time or distancetrack mappingrainbow chartshistogramsX-Y scatter plotsstatisticsvirtual dashMathematical data analysis is also included to smooth data, calculate handling traits (such as understeer/overtsteer) and other powerful analysis tools. The capabilities of MoTeC interpreter are controlled by the options enabled in the MoTeC ECU or ADL Dash Logger.System Logging Options and AccessoriesBase LoggingBase logging is optional on the M8 Engine Management System (512kb), and standard with the MoTeC Dash/Logger (128kb). This allows user defined logging rates from 1-20 hertz. Several analysis techniques are available with basic logging, including graphical analysis, mixture maps, and statistics. However the more advanced functions are only available with Pro-logging.Medium LoggingThis option upgrades the Dash/Logger's memory from 128kb to 1 or 2 MByte.Large LoggingThis option upgrades the MoTeC Dash/Logger's memory to 4 MByte, or 8 MByte with the use of an ADL 8 Dash/Logger. This option also includes fastest lap logging and 2 burst logging modes. This allows the user to assign different channels and/or logging rates to analyse a car's fastest lap in greater detail, or to analyse a section of the racetrack more accurately in burst logging mode.Pro LoggingPro logging is optional on both the MoTeC M8 Engine Management Systems and the ADL Dash Loggers. Pro logging adds sophisticated functionality to the capabilities offered in Base Logging. These extra functions include Track Mapping, Mathematics, and Virtual Dash to name a few.Extended Inputs and OutputsThis option increases the number of input and output pins available for MoTeC Dash Loggers. This will enable the Dash Logger to expand its inputs to offer a greater range of sensors to be logged. For example, the I/O upgrades will enable 4 digital wheel speed sensor inputs; inputs for brake line pressure and brake pedal position to monitor pad wear, brake temperature; tyre temperature; laser or infra-red ride height sensors; and aerodynamic downforce sensors to name a few.Wideband Lambda InputsTwo wideband, temperature compensated lambda (exhaust gas mixture strength) sensor inputs are optional on both the MoTeC Engine Management System and ADL Dash Logger.TelemetryThe telemetry option enables an 'in the pits' view of all of the vehicle's data in real time. MoTeC telemetry supports both continuous and end of lap data transmission. The user can define a multiple page setup to view the data as text, warning alarms, numerics, bar charts, gauges, steering wheel, scrolling charts, and moving track maps.Lap Beacon Transmitter/ReceiverThe MoTeC infra-red beacon system provides 990 unique channels for lap timing. A lap beacon is essential for logging lap times, generating track maps, and overlaying data.
