HKS offers Turbo and Sport Turbo upgrades that are designed to improve the efficiency of air flow, thus improving power and reducing thermal stress on engines. These upgrades also increase exhaust manifold flow and turbine shaft velocity which increase boost range capability, and allows for greater power potential. Sport Turbo upgrades are straight replacement turbos for street use. They provide significant horsepower gains with minimal turbo lag. Each system comes with all the necessary hardware. HKS 'GT' Turbines
HKS and Garrett Turbochargers in Japan have collaborated to produce one of the most impressive commercial turbochargers available. Offered exclusively through HKS, GT turbos are the first affordable true ball bearing turbos. Standard turbochargers use bronze bushing type bearings on the centre shaft. The GT turbos are engineered with a full ball bearing cartridge system. Weight and friction are reduced on the centre shaft allowing for quicker spool-up times and better response, thus reducing turbo lag. GT turbo durability is equal to or greater than conventional designs.
These turbos have been used on many different makes of car (not just Japanese) with incredible results. We have generally found that we can run a lower boost pressure than stock and see an increase in horsepower by as much as 20% with less lag than standard!
