Powerflow Induction Kits

Engine power is directly related to the amount of air an engine can take in and expel. Therefore, one of the easiest and least expensive ways to increase the horsepower of any engine is to improve the airflow into the cylinders. However, many products in the marketplace sacrifice air filtration capability for improved air flow characteristics. HKS high performance air filter systems offer the ultimate in both air filtration and air flow for maximum engine performance.

PowerFlow air intake systems have been designed to dramatically reduce inlet restrictions posed by todays sealed factory air boxes, in both turbo and normally aspirated configurations. The design of the PowerFlow consists of a large velocity stack and a dual density polyurethane foam filter element at the inlet throat. A patented super-funnel design also allows maximum airflow with the minimal turbulence inherent with box-type designs.

Features:

Super Funnel Design:

The patented super funnel design creates a controlled vacuum which draws air from the outer edge of the filter. The unique dome shape helps manage the direction of airflow and minimizes air turbulance.

Super Honeycomb frame structure:

Increases structural configuration to absorb and distribute any additional stress evenly to six different points.

High Flow polyurethane type filter:

Wet type element which incorporates a special sticky fluid chemical (not an oil). To enhance filtration, a special laminating process is used to ensure that this chemical bonds to the element allowing each filter to achieve maximum filtration. As a result, an element with large pores is utilized for greater airflow without sacrificing filtration. HKS filter elements are disposible to maintain consistency in performance.

MetalFlow air intake kits use a similar funnel system to the PowerFlow but have a different filtering medium in the form of a fine mesh stainless steel gauze. This mesh is made from SUS304 grade stainless steel and can further enhance underbonnet appearance. It must be noted that airflow efficiency with the MetalFlow is seriously impaired when dirt builds up on the filter (in comparison to the PowerFlow) so it is reccomended that MetalFlow filters are cleaned every 800 miles if possible, or when dirt can be visibly seen.
